
Effective design for Kaiser Permanente’s Decades of Excellence celebration
Kaiser Permanente partnered with Strategic Health to ensure that its Decades of Excellence event achieved the goal of honoring committed service and boosting morale.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kaiser Permanente pivoted from an in-person event honoring employees to an online event. The live-streamed event was paired with an online program for colleagues, families and others who could not attend.
Strategic Health created an elegant, celebratory concept and consistently applied it to all the event communications and collateral.
We delivered:
Email invitation
Shipping box label for mailing the crystal awards
"Take a selfie" card enclosed in the attendee boxes
Background for the live-streamed event
Online program, which complemented the live-streamed event, and featured videos, employee awardee selfies, and memorable life achievement pictures
Invitation for Decades celebration delivered via email blast.
In the gift box awardees received their crystal award and this card encouraging them to take a selfie with their award. These images were incorporated into the online program.
On the day of the event, this celebratory digital background was used for all speakers.
The Decades program was posted online. Readers could flip through the pages and play the videos within the online booklet.
The first spread features a special video message for awardees recorded by Richard McCarthy, Executive Medical Director, Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medicine. Readers could watch it within the Decades online program.
Employees honored for 30 years of service each received a personalized video. Their bosses and colleagues talked about working with them and the experiences they had together. These heartfelt videos were displayed in the Decades online program and could be watched without clicking through to a new web page.
Employees honored for 20 years of service received a compilation video of them answering the question, “My 20 years with Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medicine Group has been meaningful because ...”
Employees honored for 20 years of service were asked to share photos of important moments during their 20 years of employment.
Employees honored for 10 years of service were asked to take a selfie with their award. The “smile” card (displayed above) worked! They sent in many great photos.
